Saint Lucia: Helen Of The West Indies

Simply beautiful, tranquil, serene, captivating, I can go on forever describing the essence of Saint Lucia.

I had the honor of visiting this island and being hosted by good friend, Niecie who is a St. Lucian native. I’m not a fan of getting stuck in tourist traps when traveling so living as a Lucian local made this a trip to remember. I felt at home, safe and a sense of calmness. I mean, when surrounded by fascinating views it’s hard not to be at peace.

Upon arrival I didn’t know what to expect. I know I was in dire need of vitamin D for tanning purposes, a beach and exotic fruits that make me feel pretty, lol. On the first day we decided to chill, debrief and decompress. Wait, I have to take the time to shoutout Niecie’s family for such a warm welcome into their home. I arrived as a stranger and left with an adopted Uncle, Aunt, Grandma, Grandpa, cousin, nephews and a dog :)

The trip included sailing to the Gros Pitons, zip lining, waterfalls, a mineral bath at the Sulphur Springs, radio shoutouts and more. Of course, I documented this trip and posted it on YouTube, however I missed so much from being caught in the moment.

Sadly, I only stayed in Saint Lucia 4 days. I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more tucked away on the island that I have yet to experience. With a second family there, I’m almost certain I’ll be back to visit the sweet Helen of the West Indies.
